Last week we got to go to The Vintage Empire, a lovely tea room at 104 High Street in Herne Bay, Kent.  Not being a regular visitor to the town I had not heard of it.  Instead I was invited by a lovely friend who thought we could share the experience.

My friend had booked us a table as it is a really popular destination – it’s 5 star rated on TripAdvisor.

We were delighted the moment we walked in.  This is a really authentic place with a whole set of dreams invested in it.

Our little table by the black out windows

It just felt like i was in someone’s charming front room

The Menu is made to look like a ration book

Some amazing High Teas are available

I love the Trench Snacks section

We opted for an afternoon tea at the bargain price of a fiver!

And that includes a pot of tea, proper tea!

It appeared a real passion for the owner and the quality of the food and the level of service were exemplary.  This was most certainly not a venue trading on the latest it word – vintage.  This place deserves its reputation and fully earns its high ranking on Trip Advisor.
